A little late, sure. But here we are.The baseball issue is always a fun project, if only because it provides the challenge of celebrating the familiar while seeking the new. As Cobalt has gone through many changes this year, I find myself reflecting on what we value. At the top of the list is literary quality and humanity. When I look back on the seven years of this contest, and the resulting baseball issues, I am struck by the heart of this large collection of poems, essays, stories, plays, and miscellany.
